Extraordinary opportunity to come together on 11/11/11 and help create a culturally defining time capsule that will still have enormous significance come 11/11/2111, and at the same time help raise money and awareness in the fight against the inequality that many around the world still face today.

The 11Eleven Project is a not-for-profit creative scheme, taking place this year on 11/11/11 – a date that only occurs once every hundred years.

For 24 hours on this day, anyone with access to a recording device will be encouraged to participate in creating a ‘global snapshot’ by either recording a short film, taking a picture, blogging, composing a piece of music or recording a significant sound to represent their environment.

The aim of the project is to unite people around the world by creatively connecting them on this single day. It’s an opportunity to bring individuals together as a collective, disregarding race, gender and societal boundaries to celebrate the similarities and differences between our ways of life.

After November 11, submitted works will be collated into various works, including a documentary film – to be screened worldwide and subsequently made available on DVD and for digital download – a photo book and a music album. All sales from these items will be split evenly between our chosen charities, all of which are aligned with the 8 UN Millennium Development Goals.

Danielle Lauren, Creative Director of the 11Eleven Project, has been fine-tuning the idea for ten years, and is now ready to unleash it on the rest of the world. “I always believed that artists could contribute to making the world a better place. I wanted to use my passion for entertainment and storytelling to positively contribute,” she says.

The 11Eleven Project will be by the people, for the people, and will not cost anything to participate or to view the work. The project currently has participants in over 120 countries, and the number is climbing every day.

The 11Eleven Project is an opportunity for those who want to help make a difference, have their work count. It’s a chance to rewrite the global narrative by ensuring that all people, from all backgrounds, get involved.
