On behalf of MiSociety and SRS Productions, I am thrilled to announce that the Australian Winter Festivals are  back for 2011, this year adding Brisbane and Melbourne as a new location amongst the massively successful Sydney and  Bondi festivals.. 
 
Ice Skating in a Winter Wonderland  with friends and family while indulging in gourmet alpine delights from around the globe. The ever popular, aromatic and heart warming gluhwein is here to stay, as well, there is a big schedule of new attractions to wow the crowds.

Party people will be heading out to the  Winter Festivals after dark to check out local and international DJ’s perform at the cube and ice bars. For those of you who are more about the winter food experience, you can enjoy watching a celebrity cooking show to learn a thing or two while taking in all the winter ambiance.

Ice Blitz Competition – The Ice Blitz Championships encourage competing teams of four to race against the clock
Thousands of contenders across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are expected to enter the Ice Blitz Competition, competing for the hotly coveted Ice Blitz Trophy.  The Ice Blitz Championships encourage competing teams of four to race against the clock in a circular ice skating relay for a chance to win an array of prizes. Competitors of all ages and skill levels are welcome, be they friends, family or work mates. 

 Sydney CBD, Bondi Beach, Melbourne, and for the first time,Brisbane, the 2011 Australian  Winter Festivals will offer its most exciting line-up yet.  Gourmet winter food sensations, some dazzling action on the ice and authentic après ski experiences.

Bondi Beach, Bondi – 30 June – 17 July 2011
Located on the board walk of the iconic Bondi Beach, The Bergstation will open again in Bondi for its second consecutive year, promising to transform Sydney’s most famous beach into a winter wonderland.

Sydney , Cathedral Square,  – 28 July – 14 August 2011
Located at the Sydney CBD’s iconic Cathedral Square, Sydney thrill seekers can enjoy a skate on one of the country’s largest outdoor ice skating rinks, whilst food-lovers can sample some of the most delicious dishes from over 20 countries.

Melbourne, Melbourne Museum, 18 August – 4 September 2011
Located out the front of the Melbourne Museum’s iconic Royal Exhibition Building, the Australian Winter Festival returns to Melbourne for its second consecutive year, promising to transform the Melbourne CBD into a winter wonderland.
