Art Month Sydney Opening Night Party sets the tone for an ‘arty’ month
Art Month Sydney got off to a roaring start when hundreds crammed into the balcony level of Customs House at Circular Quay to launch this new event for Sydney. With the involvement of over 70 of Sydney’s top commercial galleries and 140 events lined up during the month everyone was ready to party in this first time innovation.
The wine flowed (thanks to Mr Tyrells at the last moment) and food almost got around the crowd that was made up of artists, gallery owners, designers, media and lots of others.
Sydney has a huge art scene but believe it or not there are still people who don’t embrace it (although MiSociety has been doing it’s darndest to change this since our inception). For those who have never been to an art gallery or attended anything ‘arty’ here’s your chance. Come on now don’t be afraid get out there and join in the fun of pop up bars, extended gallery opening hours talks and panel discussions (here’s where you can really get the low down). Also there’s art meets fashion, architecture, performances – the list just goes on.
