Weekend Australian Art Sydney – Sydney’s largest and most popular annual art fair is on again for 2010 – 80 art galleries and 800 artists.

Art Sydney 2010 – art  that is both affordable and collectable.  The Weekend Australian Art Sydney is  Sydney’s most popular annual art fair and it is back for 2010 at  the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park 11-14 November 2010

Artworks to suit any budget, The Weekend Australian Art Sydney 2010 will present over 80 galleries and the work of over 800 artists. Immerse oneself in paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, ceramics, indigenous art and new media works ranging from $100 – $10,000. In a relaxed, social environment, you can learn about the many types of art exhibited, meet the artists and take home art to light up your walls.

Providing art lovers with an exclusive round up of emerging superstars, stART is an exciting initiative giving self-represented artists the opportunity to run their own exhibitions. This is your chance to buy from some of the hottest emerging artists directly and invest in the future of visual culture in Australia.

Allpress Printworks
Another exciting feature for this year’s event is the Allpress Printworks; watch printmakers demonstrate fascinating editioning processes live on a working press. Elisabeth Cummings, Euan MacLeod, Noel McKenna, Reg Mombassa, Idris Murphy, Cash Brown, Gregory O’Brien, Michael Kempson and Ian Grant have all made editioned prints EXCLUSIVELY for release at The Weekend Australian Art Sydney 10. This provides an unprecedented opportunity to purchase an iconic artist’s work at an entry level price.
Revealing secrets of the art world along with exciting insider knowledge, the free educational Art Walks Program will take place throughout the three day event. Hosted hourly by industry experts, Art Walks will demystify some of the complexities of the art world, offer hints on how to spot rising stars, investment strategies and how to grab a bargain at the fair. Topics include “Best Buys Under $1000”, “Understanding Aboriginal Art”, “For Love or Money” and “Starting a Collection”.

Art Workshops for Kids – BKIDS
The much-loved BKIDS Art Workshops in association with BORDERS are aimed for kids over 5, with activities designed to stimulate your child’s inner artist.

 2010’s Opening Night on November 11 gives you the chance to get in early and snap up the cream of the crop.
Friday Night Live provides an opportunity to wind into the weekend with fine art, fine wine and fine music until 9 p.m.
