Announced to Perform at The Australian Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2010!

Nickelodeon today announced that SHORT STACK will headline the music performances at this year’s Australian Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, with the exciting line-up to feature AMY MEREDITH, CODY SIMPSON and body-rockin’ dance performances by Australia’s Got Talent winners, JUSTICE CREW!

With their unique brand of rock swagger, SHORT STACK are an enduring KCA favourite who generated fan hysteria at the Kids’ Choice Awards in both 2008 and 2009, and are sure to attract even more excitement when they headline the music acts at this year’s KCA!

Shaun Diviney (vocals/guitar), Andy Clemmensen (bass) and Bradie Webb (drums) are one of Australia’s original YouTube success stories, and undeniably the biggest online band discovery in the country, with a legion of dedicated fans who can’t get enough of their electro punk-rock. Their debut album featuring single “Shimmy A Go Go” made an outstanding debut in the ARIA charts at #1 on the way to going gold, and the scene is truly set for another chart-blitzing effort when their upcoming new single “This Is Bat Country” drops in November.

SHORT STACK is nominated for a Nickelodeon KCA blimp in the category of Fave Aussie Musos, up against other successful home-grown artists Jessica Mauboy, Vanessa Amorosi and Guy Sebastian.

Five-piece Sydney band AMY MEREDITH have been all over the radio airwaves this year, making a name for themselves as a pop-rock sensation.  Their brand new album, RESTLESS, debuted in the National ARIA Charts Top 10 off the back of smash hit singles “Pornstar” and “Lying”.  The next single from lead singer Christian Lo Russo, guitarists Joel Chapman and Cam Laing, bassist Wade Osborn and drummer Kosta Theodosis is “Young at Heart”.  Promising to be yet another infectious hit, it’s the perfect song for the boys to perform for their young fans at this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards!

AMY MEREDITH are nominated for a Nickelodeon KCA blimp in the category of Fresh Aussie Musos, up against fellow KCA performer CODY SIMPSON, plus Stan Walker and Orianthi.

CODY SIMPSON is a 14 year old pop/R&B singer-songwriter from the Gold Coast who was discovered on YouTube, just like Justin Bieber.  Simpson began to record songs in his bedroom in 2009 on YouTube, and was subsequently discovered on by Shawn Campbell, a Grammy-nominated record producer who has produced for huge artists such as Jay-Z. With his single “iYiYi” featuring hip hop star Flo Rida, Simpson is well equipped to follow in Bieber’s footsteps of U.S. success.

CODY SIMPSON is nominated for a Nickelodeon KCA blimp in the category of Fresh Aussie Musos.

JUSTICE CREW gained national recognition as winners of Australia’s Got Talent 2010.  Hailing from the western suburbs of Sydney, the 9 piece troupe is comprised of Lukas Bellesini, Omar Kamara, Samson Cosray Smith, Solo Tohi, Len John Ruela Pearce, John Len Ruela Pearce, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Paul Eric Merciadez and Anastasios Tass Repousis, who danced their way from humble beginnings right into the hearts of the Australian public. Their latest coup is a record deal with Sony Music, and in August the boys released their debut single, “And Then We Dance”.

Beyond their music, world class dance styles and incredible athleticism, there is yet another dimension to JUSTICE CREW to be applauded. With their collective vision to use music and dance to empower future generations with the will to dream big, the troupe have set up Justice Academy Inc, a program which helps young Australians work on their self confidence and team building skills through free dance workshops and classes. ‘Little Justice’, the 5- 9 year old graduates of this program, recently competed in the World Hip Hop competition in Los Angeles.

This year’s host and presenters are being kept under wraps until closer to the date, with international & local celebrities and musical performers to be announced in the coming months. KCA always attracts some big names, with last year’s spectacular show hosted by Delta Goodrem and co-hosted by Good Charlotte brothers Joel and Benji Madden. Special Guest Star Miranda Cosgrove from hit Nick show iCarly featured as a presenter, while performers Guy Sebastian, Cassie Davis and Jessica Mauboy rocked the house. But 2009 was Rove’s year, as he once again reigned supreme as the kids’ choice for the ultimate award of Fave Aussie.

Tickets go on sale Monday August 23, and will be available through Ticketmaster – phone: 1300 883 622, or visit . Last year’s coveted tickets sold out in just under 2 weeks, and although capacity has been increased to almost 5000 this year due to demand for this ever-growing event, kids and parents will need to be quick to avoid disappointment.

Voting closes Sunday 26th September at midnight, with voting available through the Nickelodeon website, as well as through Foxtel Interactive TV or the Austar website.

Winners will be announced at the 8th Annual Australian Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards at Sydney Entertainment Centre on Friday October 8.

The KCA show will be broadcast nationally Friday October 8, including the Orange Carpet show,
from 7.00pm on Nickelodeon.
