Baccoing up for seconds at the QVB
Bacco Wine Bar Pasticceria in the QVB for their launch party saw Sydney’s food media, friends and even the Consul General of Papua New Guinea crowd in to taste the new venture.
The Bacco Wine Bar in Chifley Plaza opened a little over a year ago and has been going great guns. This new, very Italian style, eatery and bar on the second level of the QVB looks set to be just as popular.
MiSociety has to admit to being somewhat biased here though as the warm inviting Italian feel of the eatery and bar with it’s pastry lover’s front counter, marble floors and polished timber accents is of a style we particularly enjoy.
Bacco, in the Sydney treasure that is the Queen Victoria Building, put on a terrific party. Jazz music wafted through the building as the cocktails flowing along with Italian wine to wash down a huge array of delectable delights including mega blocks of wonderful cheese and a table laden with meats and breads.
We are told everything is house made at Bacco – all the pastas, risottos, sauces, cakes and chocolate. There’s also a bar menu boasting spicy home-made Italian meatballs, cured kingfish with orange spring herbs and pan toasted brioche and a mint sautéed king prawns with crispy vegetables and vanilla scented olive oil – yum.
Bacco Wine Bar Pasticceria is located at Level 2, QVB Building, 455 George Street, Sydney. Phone: (02) 9223 9552. Further details available at www.bacco.com.au
