Blackberry Torch fires up the throng at the Argyle with Tinie Tempah
Blackberry Torch, the latest phone to be launched in Sydney, attracted a crowd of 500 (and still counting) to the Argyle Hotel in the Rocks in Sydney. Celebrities spotted in the massed throng included Peter Morrissey, Lizzy Lovette, Tamara Jaber and Nacho Pop.
The pre flagged big act and official launcher on the night was UK rapper Tinie Tempah - real name Patrick Okogwu, flown in especially from London and whose debut album, Disc-Overy, debuted at number-one in October. Tinie, from the stage, drew squeeling appreciation from a dancing crowd, but guests found it hard to similarly appreciate the ‘Blackberry Torch’ thanks to a protective ring of security guards that kept the new phone otherwise engaged.
The lack of connection to the actual product did not dampen the Blackberry party spirits, however, with guests enjoying the the bubbly and cardboard boxed Magnum ice creams as they assemled around the Argyle’s cobblestone courtyard.
