Fashions on the Field and Noni B Fashion Stage glam it up at the Blue Diamond Stakes Day  Caulfield
Victoria has not had much of a summer this season, but on Saturday 26th February 2011 the summer sun decided to pay us a long overdue visit to make a wonderful day at the Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) at Caulfield, a perfect one.

The Noni B Fashion Stage at the Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes Day was where all the colour, creativity and fashionable gals and guys gathered.  They were there to watch the Liz Jordan range (exclusive to Noni B) being shown off on the runway by stunning catwalk models and for the judging of  the Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes competition.  Besides those sassy ladies and gents who competed in the ‘singles’ heats, it was also just as great to see mothers with their daughters and sons, couples, sisters and best friends compete in the ‘duo’ heats along with the under 18’s displaying their early talents for creativity and style.

The Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes was hosted by swimming legend Grant Hackett and the fresh faced channel 9 personality, Brodie Harper.  Media names such as Heath Meldrum, Lauren Phillips, Jane Badler, Danielle Horvat, Nick Carey and Andrew Faulkner were also in the mix of hosts.  The judging panel, featuring the Milliner Peter Jago, senior Noni B representative Martin Sanders, racing fashionista Anna Mott  and fashion designer Yeojin Baewere were indeed flamboyant, yet stylishly balanced.

Amanda Malor won the Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes – congratulations Amanda.  The $20,000 prize pool, shared amongst the winners, included a fabulous luxury holiday.   I had the pleasure of chatting with a number of the hopeful contestants prior to their heats about the inspiration behind their outfits.  The vibe was competitive yet friendly and fun with the standard of fashion paraded by Fashions on the Field entrants very high – making it quite a tough job to judge I would imagine!
