The Lightbulb Lounge Room is excited to announce its artist call for entries to showcase the next instalment of creative inspiration at the gallery’s upcoming exhibition, titled Hunt or Be Hunted, opening on January 18th, 2012.
Artists of all creeds, including illustrators, typographers, designers, photographers and canvas-based painters are encouraged to enter work which best represents the exhibition theme: ‘Hunt or be Hunted’.
“The theme could be translated to include artworks expressing the literal representation and meaning of the exhibition theme — conjuring up the notion of woods, hunter’s cabins, woodsmen or indeed the creatures they hunt down,” explains creative director and founder Claire Perini.
“Alternatively, artists could interpret the brief more abstractly, contributing artwork that demonstrates the idea of ‘hunting for inspiration’ or hunting for a new way to creatively express themselves and the world around them,” she adds.
Artists can enter a maximum of three artworks and each piece must be presented in a brown wooden frame, to coincide with the exhibition theme and to also match with the eclectic aesthetics of the gallery space. The maximum artwork size is A3. Small, bespoke and handcrafted artworks are warmly welcome.
All exhibiting artists and designers will have the opportunity to go into the running to win a solo exhibition at The Lightbulb Lounge Room, provided they have submitted at least one piece of work into one of the group exhibitions. Each month’s exhibition brief can be found on the website: http://the-llr.com/
The selection process is first in best dressed so don’t delay sending in your submission. The call for entry deadline closes on January 10, 2012. The opening night will be held on January 18, 2012, and the exhibition will run for one month.
