Brazillian artist’s colour palette bursts into Butler Goode
Christine Drummond’s persona echoes her energetic and vibrant paintings now on display at the Butler Goode Gallery, Paddington till 27 March 2011.
Christine, in Australia for the very first time, brings all the colour of Brazil to life on her canvases that depict beach life, market scenes, all the fun of the carnival and favela paintings.
A Rio Carnival atmosphere pervaded at the Butler Goode Gallery for the opening night of ‘Rio Carnival in Movement and Colour’ exhibition by Christine Drummond. Brazillian dancers gyrated and Samba-ed around while authentic Brazillian canapes accompanied wines especially selected by Butler Goode.
Americo Dyott Fontenelle, Consul General of Brazil, officially opened the exhibiton with Christine imparting to MiSociety that she had only been painting for some ten years. Ms Drummond then gave a live demonstration of her technique for gallery guests.
