CREATIVE SYDNEY PROGRAM DETAILS
CREATIVE SYDNEY today announced the first details for its inaugural free event series, set to take place from May 27 – June 12, 2009 during the Vivid Sydney festival of music, light and ideas.

For three weeks, Creative Sydney will present an array of the city’s most interesting and inspiring talent, from the world-renowned to the underground, in a string of free talks and events at the Foundation Hall of the Museum of Contemporary Art and The Roxy in Parramatta.
With a Salon Bar open late, a provocative program and Sydney’s creative pioneers, visionaries, renegades and future stars all mingling under the one roof, Creative Sydney is set to be the bold little gem in the Vivid Sydney crown.

What kind of narratives drive our culture? Do artists have to manage the media message to reach audiences? Does it matter where you come from? Some of our most celebrated filmmakers, artists and thinkers engage in a frank discussion about the diversity of creative culture in Sydney, and reveal how they carved their own paths into their industries and art world. Discussion will be followed by a screening of Western Sydney’s finest youth shorts, curated by Information and Cultural Exchange and Shortcuts Youth Film Festival.
