Creative Sydney opening party defies Sydney’s gumboot weather
The Creative Sydney 2010 launch party was held on a night when Sydney’s weather was creating a wickedly wet and thunderous backdrop to the Museum of Contemporary Art venue where 300 guests artfully celebrated.
A number of guests were ‘creatively attired’ and many were partying wearing the new fashionable mask (well old and re-born really) 3D glasses to view posters and a book on show for the evening.
The crowd was as varied as the dozen or so categories that Creative Sydney 2010 will embrace in the festival but were overwhelmingly represented by the younger set – and isn’t that as it should be as we seek fresh and stimulating ideas throughout the arts
Mind you, steak and kidney pies were eagerly devoured and washed down with champers and beer on this very wintry night proving that tried and true good ideas should never be discarded. Hopefully visitors to the Creative Sydney festival will get the same buzz that floated around this party. What’s on for Creative Sydney 2010
