Try as they did the Kerr family couldn’t protect Olando Bloom from the MiSociety camera! Plus more exclusive photos from the David Jones 2009 Autumn Winter Collections
David Jones was the first to jump in the 2009 Autumn Winter Collections store wars with no champers, no chauffer-driven limos, a cheaper venue and no glam after party for the hoards! Is this the new format for what the Australian newspaper has labeled the “recessionista wars”.
Gone were the usual lavish videos and settings. Instead the Horden Pavillion catwalk was simply backdropped by the David Jones logo with the D.J.’ 2009 collections heralded by an invite that flagged strictly 10.30am till 12 noon. It was interesting that some guests felt it was a tad more stylish with ‘coffee and cakes’. It was also noted that ‘a calmer atmosphere’ created a greater opportunity to focus purely on the fashion.
A one minutes silence was held for Victoria’s bush fire victims with David Jones donating some of their profits to the Red Cross fire appeal.
Miranda Kerr opened the parade for Sydney’s VIP’s of fashion including designers Collette Dinnigan, Kirrily Johnston and Alex Perry.
