Mexican Day of the Dead Traditions
The Festival of Life and Death Traditions is a beautiful Mexican celebration that aims to ensure the active participation of society, independent artists and artistic groups. This festival integrates rich cultural diversity and tradition in celebration of the Day of the Dead, by honouring and remembering the lives of departed family members. It is believed that during this day the spirit of the departed make an annual visit to those loved ones left behind.
In Mexico, neighbours gather in local cemeteries and restaurants to share food, music, and fun with their extended community, both living and departed. The celebration acknowledges that we still have a relationship with our ancestors and loved ones that have passed away.
