Deadlys Awards 2012  were launched at an up-beat event held at the SBS headquarters in Sydney.  The launch event at SBS Studios  announced nominations for the finals and also officially fired the starting gun for the Australian public to vote for their choice of winners.  The formal proceedings were accompanied by live performances from two of this year’s finalists, Brisbane based singer Thelma Plumb and Sydney’s hip hop artist Sky’High (aka Skh’ai Gerrey).   List of The Deadlys nominations 2012.

The Deadlys, founded by Gain Jones of Vibe Australia and produced by his company, this year has 26 award categories across music, sport, the arts and the community which are open to the public for voting.  The 2012 Deadlys will also include three categories in the non-voting award categories, the Deadly Hall of Fame.
