When Dee Bee’s in Double Bay throws a party everyone shows up
Dee Bees, Graeme Goldberg, his wife Brigitte and their long serving staff are Double Bay. It’s rare in a large city that a simple cafe (albeit one with it’s walls obscured by photos of Graeme with celebrities) can become such an institution.
To this end when the invite goes out stating no RSVP necessary, just come – they all do. Everyone was there from Rabbi Castel, Leo Sayer, Barry Crocker, Michael Caton, Pat Corrigan to a good smattering of well know faces and of course, Santa.
As is the norm for one of Graeme Goldberg’s parties photographers were everywhere with some ‘first timer” guests wondering why. Dee Bees has always been a hub for snappers with photographer Peter Carrette being Graeme’s friend and a regular prior to his untimely death recently. Peter’s daughter Madi Carrette bravely turned up supported by her fiance Scott Wolfson. Madi told MiSociety that they plan to carry on her father’s photography business.
