Jutta Feddersen is an internationally renowned sculptor and fibre artist. Born in 1931 in Germany her early childhood was secure and happy. This security and innocence was lost to her by the end of World War II.
Jutta was born in a part of Germany that’s now in Poland; and as a teenager was interned in a Russian labour camp. She came from an artistic family, and during the war the family lost everything. “When I walk anywhere, I always look down, and so I find things that are lost. I guess this has a lot to do with the fact that we lost everything in the war – photos, toys and all the beautiful objects that my parents had collected” Jutta FeddersenShare
