Grand National Show Jumping Challenge 2012 – lifts the bar yet again
Sydney Polo Club, a truly magnificent polo club estate in the heart of Richmond , New South Wales, was the superb setting for the Grand National Show Jumping Challenge 2012 weekend long event held in glorious Sydney Spring weather.

Sydney Polo Club founders and visionary owners Rachael and Peter Higgins hosted a packed V.I.P. Marquee section situated in the middle of four competition jumping arenas.  Knowledgeable show jumping VIP’s and other less well versed folk exchanged notes and gossip on the premium Gold Grand Prix event and other classes of the competition whilst enjoying lunch, drinks and colourful cupcakes.

Grand National Show Jumping Challenge in 2012 drew the country’s show jumping royalty plus a large attendance of spectators demonstrating that show jumping has come to the fore as a spectator sport.  Show jumping is rapidly attracting people who are realising that watching world-class riders in such beautiful surroundings whilst socialising with others makes for a really top day.

Grand National Show Jumping Challenge 2012 offered impressive prize money for the successful riders and their mighty steeds but the event organisers made great efforts to involve the watching public including a ‘walk the course’ segment guided by Olympian Vicki Roycroft.

As ‘MiSociety’ reluctantly said goodbye to the paddocks now lit by the brilliant sunset we passed by the many enormous luxury horse trailers parked waiting to load up the day’s competing ponies.  These trailers boast facilities that would not go amiss in a very decent human hotel – show jumping horses must be smart, they have seemingly found the ultimate equestrian lifestyle.
