Hilton F&B Masters competition – Girls rule again at another Australian Cup
Hilton Sydney showcased world-class culinary, cocktail and coffee creations at the inaugural 2015 Australasia Food and Beverage Masters competition held at their popular Zeta Bar.
Hilton team members were vying for the Barista, Wine and Bar Cups this day with the Culinary Cup set for Wednesday 2 December at Ultimo Tafe. National finalists will compete at the Australasian competition held on 21st January 2016 at Hilton Sydney.
Competition was fierce and the professional judging teams very serious. Nerves were obvious as competitors strove to impress with their creations of original cocktails and coffees. As with that other ‘Cup’ recently the ladies ruled with the Barista Cup taken out by Hitomi Honda and the Wine Cup won by Amandine Rouviere. The Bar Cup was achieved by Dominic Carlesso.
Hilton F&B Masters program is strongly supported by managers who are dedicated to giving their time and skills to assist participants in their preparation. This benefits managers by further developing their own leadership skills and coaching techniques further stimulating their own passion for developing others and seeing their team members succeed.
MiSociety was impressed with the longevity of employment of hotel staff at the Sydney Hilton, this, in an industry that is not particularly renown for this attribute. For instance Ronald van Weezel, General Manager at Hilton Sydney, has been with the company for 37 years having worked all over the world during his time with the organisation.
Hilton F&B Masters was formerly the Hilton Culinary Cup and first held in Europe before expanding to include four disciplines being since held in the Middle East/Africa and more recently in South East Asia. Due to the latter’s success, the Asia Pacific region will be represented in 2015/16 with Hilton Sydney named the inaugural host hotel.
