It’s an unforgettable night in Sydney in 1933 with the David Jones art deco room festooned with garlands. Harlequins and columbines, Mexicans, Persians, cowboys, cowgirls, and an assorted variety of fairies arrive in swathes, the Queen of Bohemia amongst them in her leopard skin dress. A carnivale like celebration ensues: there is dancing; there is wild abandon; the spirit of fun takes charge.
