Hulkamania - Let the Battle Begin – and it did!
The world is full of showmen and I have met many of them, but there is nobody to compare with wrestiling icon ‘ Hulk Hogan’.
I joined a group of journos and photographers at the press launch of the Hukkamania ‘Let the Games Begin’ in the Sports Theatre at Star City.
About 15 assorted wrestlers with the weidest looks and names including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Nasty Boys, and Jimmy Hart and two girls faced the cameras. One man called the ‘Vampire’ wore two fangs and would frighten horses.
Highlight of the launch was the fight between the two best in the world, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. Hulk ended up crashing off the stage onto the floor, then staggering to his feet with ‘blood’ flowing down his face. A masterful performance, they deserve an Oscar for their acting. The photographer next to me commented “it will sell tickets”.
