Q & A style Panel with Peter Fitzsimons (Sports Writer, Author and Critic of the church), Rev Michael Barnes from the Crows Nest Uniting Church (Moderator) and Fr Tony Smith from the North Sydney Catholic Church.
A special evening with Peter Fitzsimons, who describes himself as an atheist, to engage in conversation with those who profess no faith
The audience will have the opportunity to ask Peter Fitzsimons and the Panel questions they may have and to make comments.
The topic for this Forum sprang from what the Irish theologian, Peter Rollins, recently said “The whole religion industry is fuelled by ou desire to escape suffering and to avoid a gnawing sense of meaninglessness. And the certainty it offers keeps selling because it is ultimately ineffective in transforming us.”
