IF Film Awards 2011 – Red Dog grabs the ball and keeps running
Australian film and television stars, film production hierarchy and celebrities donned their best designer frocks, suits and hair do’s to trot the IF Awards 2011 red carpet (well green actually). All that trouble and they were upstaged by a ‘Red Dog’ named Koko, wearing nothing more than his best red collar, lead and a big smile.
Red Dog not only stole the red/green carpet but he and the rest of the stars and production crew from the film stole most of gongs on the night. Here’s a hint for the Australian film industry – make films that the public wants to see and they will. The IF Film Awards recipients are voted for by the movie going public and it appears that handsome red dogs, some good writing and thinking outside the circle are a winning format.
Eddie Perfect, compare for the Awards, told MiSociety “I love the IF Awards because they are ‘anarchic’ and with the public doing the voting the results are far less predictable than in many other ‘industry’ awards” – and so it proved on the night.
Sydney again provided some rain showers for the Awards causing the after party to be confined inside the Crystal Palace but, rain could not weary them as the party guests raged on until the wee small hours. Full list of IF Awards 2011 winners
