Jatine Fashion launch party fused Italian Luxury with African Glamour
Jatine launch event was the latest in the recent spate of glamorous retail space openings in Sydney and this one took place in the heart of the new luxury precinct on level 3 of the Westfield Sydney complex.
Sydney’s retail scene really appears to be coming of age with store spaces designed to be visually of the highest international class – no wonder a just released Cushman & Wakefield report (based on average retail rental prices) states that Sydney’s Pitt St Mall that embraces Westfield Sydney is the fourth most expensive shopping strip in the world,
Jatine store’s dazzling fit out houses a clothes collection based on the glamour of Africa with Italian luxury. The collection features bold prints and bright hues and includes Jatine’s ’Haute Couture’ collection of one-off pieces from South African designer, Spero Villioti.
Behind Jatine’s swish shop facade and ‘chandeliered’ interior lies a personal story – rather than some fashion chain’s corporate plan. Jade Rodrigues, founder and owner of Jatine and who was supported on the evening by an obviously proud and emotional family, revealed how the new store and its collection was the fulfilment of a singular dream she had had for many years “to create a business offering women elegant, special occasion wear”.
Sophie Falkiner, the gorgeous television personality, looked absolutely stunning in a gold Jatine original cocktail dress. Guests studied the Jatine collection in detail as they enjoyed canapés along with signature cocktails by Disarrono, an Italian liqueur with a heritage dating back over centuries.
