Danish architect Jørn Utzon’s spirit lives on in a new book ‘JØRN UTZON’S SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE , A TRIBUTE’ a photographic memoir by Katarina Stuebe.
The book is a magnificent photographic journey documenting the Danish architects iconic masterpiece, The Sydney Opera House and challenges the viewer to perceive the structure from new perspectives.
This new publication is the result of a collaboration between Jørn Utzon and young German photographer Katarina Stuebe. Danish Ambassador, Mrs Susanne Shine, will launch the book in Sydney at Utzon’s famous Opera House.
Architect Jørn Utzon never actually saw his most famous creation, the iconic Sydney Opera House completed, however it was Katarina Stuebe’s photographs that made him feel he had.
“Many of the images remind me of my first conceptual sketches for the shells. I hope you will get a chance to publish these wonderful pictures, as they certainly deserve to be seen by a larger audience than just me” said Jørn Utzon.
