Taking The Helm at Cockle Bay for Melbourne Cup Day
While racegoers in Melbourne trotted the track, Sydney funsters were out in force ‘doing’ Melbourne Cup in almost every watering hole in town. MiSociety hit the starting gate at the Helm Bar at Cockle Bay figuring their deck by the harbour as the temperature exploded was the place to be. The Helm was already running at full gallop as we hit the straight (bar) along with The Helm’s devoted regular punters plus a hoard of outsiders.
Well turned out fillies partied along with some good looking stallions, friends, family and some who came in from the (corporate) pasture - terrific buzzy and friendly crowd.
The mercury continued to climb as the the Cup was run, the sweeps were done, prizes won and ‘ best dressed’ awarded - all well carried out with that essential element – ‘good natured Australian fun’.
The stylish Helm Bar and eatery’ geed up’ for Melbourne Cup day creating an excellent day in the venue that’s positioned at a top harbour spot on the waters of Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour – onya guys, well done. The Helm Bar
Note: A guest lost her camera at The Helm this day if you found it please email Kate at firstname.lastname@example.org she will be very, very grateful.
