What do you get attempting the Guinness world record for a monkey string – a Monkey Shoulder
Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whiskey hit the Sydney bar scene with a launch at the atmospheric Tokonoma Schochu Bar and Lounge in a blaze of flaming cocktails and strings of monkeys.
Monkey shoulder was the name given to the shoulder affliction sustained by the sad souls who, in days gone b,y would toil day and night mixing massive vats of Scotch Whiskey. Fortunately those days have now passed but the name lives on through the latest Scotch Whiskey offering from William Grant and Sons, who by the way, are now in their fifth generation of Scotch Whiskey distilling.
Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whiskey is the world’s first triple malt tipple and to add to this illustrious record what else would you do but make an attempt to beat the world record for the longest monkey daisy chain.
Flaming cocktails are not seen in Sydney bars all that often so to add extra fire to the firsts of the night Dean Callan, Monkey Shoulder International Brand Ambassador, bought out the flame throwers to concoct a cocktail that one would only approach from a great distance.
Tokonoma, as is their form, served us up some creative and yum Asian canapes – all great fun and an excellent event.
