NOËL! NOËL! 2009 Latino

  • 12-21 December 2009
  • City (Recital Hall) & Church Concerts

Paul Dyer, acceptee for the  Brandenburg’s fourth ARIA Award for Best Classical Album, is giving the ever popular Noël! Noël! concerts a Latin American flavour this year.

“This will be our first real foray into the sublime celebratory and sacred music that was being written in Latin American countries during the baroque times”, says Paul.

“In Noël! Noël! this year the Brandenburg Choir will sing in Latin, Spanish and English, and for the first time in an indigenous language of Mexico called Náhuatl and Chiquito, the langauge of the Chiquito Indians.”

Aside from months of soaking 39 different nuts and fruits in preparation for the cooking of around 12 Christmas cakes – a tradition for which Paul can thank his Mum – Christmas for Paul means performing some of the world’s most divine music at Brandenburg’s home at the City Recital Hall, and in the wonderful church acoustics around Sydney and Newcastle.

Now in their 11th year, the Noël! Noël! concerts have become a part of the festive tradition for many Sydneysiders and performances are typically sold out.

Church concerts can be booked online for the first time in 2009 at www.brandenburg.com.au
