Frocking up at the Observatory Hotel
‘A Night of Luxury’ headlined on the invite enticed MiSociety to the latest of the Sydney’s Observatory Hotel glam nights that are held to showcase their Day Spa with a taste of their ‘High Tea’ and more, thrown in.
Held for the first time ‘off-site’ at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum, the theme this time around was ‘Get Frocked!’ and was designed to tie in with the Powerhouse’s current exhibition ‘Frock Stars’ that celebrates 15 years of Australian Fashion Week.
The emphasis was definitely on the ‘Frocked’ side of things with guests clambering for a good vantage spot for the Nicola Finetti fashion show. Stylists, ‘Chic in the City’, held a Master Class featuring some of the frocks that have changed the world of fashion. If that wasn’t enough there was then the curator guided tours of the Powerhouse’s ’Frock Stars’ exhibition on offer.
Mind you the ‘Get’ bit got a look in too with the girls lining up to ‘get’ to La Prairie’s hand massages and skin consultations while also eagerly downing French Champagne from the House of Duval-Leroy. With all this going on the fashionistas still found time to play the game of ‘find the food’ which was a little tricky early on.
This was a ticketed event and as our PM is so fond of saying “you know what’” from overhearing the chatter of the departing guests it was obvious they had had a great time. The goodie bag was stocked with product plus complimentary vouchers for the Observatory Hotel’s Classic High Tea as well as their Day Spa (which was highly recommended to MiSociety by guests who had been there) – guess we’ll have to venture down to the Observatory Hotel in Sydney’s Rocks district for a closer look.
