Montreal, Paris and now Sydney. The first ‘Press’ Cafe has arrived with a huge party and ribbon cutting ceremony lead by the Canadian Consul General, Thomas A. MacDonald.
With a piano accordion player adding to the French inspired theme and a great group of well wishers it all came together for a terrific opening party for the first Sydney Cafe Press.
With the motto “Breathe – Eat – Drink Press Café (part of the group Les Cafés VP inc.) Presse was founded in Montreal, Canada in 1995 and now has more outlets there than the MacDonald’s fast food chain. The Canadian Consul General made this point whilst also noting the similarities between Sydney and Montreal as to the high degree of sophistication of the coffee societies in the two cities.
The Presse Coffee concept has been brought to Australia by master franchisees Mr. Tony and Mr. Isaac Halim Hachem who will follow the company’s concept of flexibility when adapting to local tastes and preferences.
The local operators demonstrated their strong passion for the newly launched venture, as did Charlie master barista El Hachem, when personally serving up endless delicious coffees throughout the evening.
After masses of the great variety of food on offer, generous wine and bubbles and most importantly of all their several cups of excellent coffee we waddled off down Pitt Street Café ticking Presse Cafe as a new favorite for coffee and eats in Sydney.
