Public Dining Room Opens on the Watermark site – Dining on North Harbour in Style
Monique and Mark McLaughlin as local residents have had their sights on the old Watermark restaurant at Balmoral Beach for some time and have now realised their dream of ownership. Monique and Mark have re-furbished the space and created a noshery deserving of it’s fabulous position northside of the harbour.
On a very dismal Sydney evening the renamed ‘Public Dining Room’ was anything but dreary as the ‘Verve’ flowed and delicious treats made their way around a mixed crowd of locals, social media, friends and customers of their other restaurant and cafe in Castle Hill.
James Kidman of Otto Restaurant fame, excitedly told us he is off to Canberra to to raise the bar of the eateries in the National Gallery of Australia as part of the furbishment of the Gallery.
With top chef Nicholas Raitt in charge and The Public Dining Room looking stunning and now taking full advantage of the signature vista that is Balmoral Beach this water front restaurant should quickly make it’s mark amongst Sydney’s foodies. (The restaurant’s new name, ’Public Dining Room’, is linked to the historical aspects of the ‘public sea-water Balmoral Baths’ which have been in continuous operation since 1898).
