When uber-PR Mark Patrick organises a party you just know it’s not one to be missed. Patrick, one of the countries top public relations experts, was the wonderkid behind the fabulous bash to launch the new $1.2 M Rolls Royce Phantom which was unveiled (despite rumours of a financial downtown 18 have been sold) at the firm’s East Sydney showrooms.
Veuve Clicquot champagne and superb food from top Hunter Valley chef Andrew Clark of the popular Rock Restaurant at the Pooles Rock vineyard. Make sure you include Pooles Rock on your next Hunter Valley tour- it’s not to be missed and it’s the mastermind of recently retired, Macquarie bank boss David Clarke.
But back to this amazing car – a combination of English style and superb German engineering – it doesn’t come any better than that ! OK, so we at MiSociety can merely look on in envy but we can dream can’t we? And we do appreciate the finer things of life including the wonderful works of art on display supplied by Tim Olsen – a series of paintings by Tim Storrier. The affable art dealer Tim is the son of legendary Aussie artist John Olsen .
Sensibly the makers of the new Phantom which takes one month to build include a picnic table complete with all necessities in the boot, as expected of the world’s greatest touring auto. So, if you haven’t already purchased one, you can still put your name down and be in time for the 2009 Melbourne Cup.
My advice, let your chauffeur sit in comfort in the back seat as driving the new Rolls is an experience something akin to being in Heaven.
