A real live golden horse, a giant gold slipper and masses of golden roses set the stunning scene on Sydney Harbour for the launch of the 2009 Golden Slipper Festival that will be held at Rosehill Gardens.
The Opera Point marquee at Sydney’s Opera House was swathed in a furlong of gold fabric and groaned under the (correct) weight of racing identities, fashion types and Sydney’s glamour set. Kate Ritchie, the delightful 2009 Ambassador for Rosehill Gardens, swapped stories on stage with Frank Colletta before everyone donned their nose bags to chow down to some serious eating and drinking.
The 2009 Rosehill Gardens Autumn Racing Carnival kicks off with Myer Ladies Day (21 March) followed by Guineas Day (28 March) with the big one, the Golden Slipper, hitting the track 4 April. So get glammed up and join the party set at Rosehill for a galloping good time.
(Let’s hope the gorgeous ‘picture perfect’ fillies at the launch remember their dresses for the race days.) Winning party – congrats to Sydney Turf Club and all involved. More info on the Golden Slipper FestivalShare
