Russian Resurrection Film Festival 2011 is in its 8th year is touring nationally.

The 8th annual Russian Resurrection film festival is touring the nation and will arrive in Sydney from September 1 to 14. This year’s program sees 14 outstanding new Russian films, five classic Russian films and two 3D films suitable for the whole family.
The 2011 Russian Resurrection Film Festival program is a fabulous combination of old and new cinema releases, including Award-winning film included in the recent Cannes Film Festival winner Elena, directed by Andrei Zviagintsev, who made the list of most prolific and talented directors in World Cinema Today.
‘Inadequate People’, a festival winner in Russia plus Fedorchenko’s ‘Silent Souls’, a winner in Venice are amogst the line-up for 2011.
Alexei Uchitel, a festival regular, returns with The Edge, a gritty yet visually stunning epic that cleaned up at the Nika and Golden Eagle Awards, the Russian equivalent of the Academy Awards.
The 2011 Classics Retrospective also features a number of famous foreign actors, including Sean Connery and Peter Finch, Malcolm McDowell and Giancarlo Giannini, who delights audiences in Life is Beautiful (La Vita e bella).
