Schools Spectacular is a world-class arena production and one of the largest annual events of its calibre anywhere in Australia.

The 2012 Schools Spectacular will showcase 3,600 NSW public school students including 59 Featured Artists, who come from suburbs all across Sydney and regional NSW. The Featured Artists will join a 1,300-voice choir, 180 musicians, 2,000 dancers and a marching band.
Theme for the 2012 Schools Spectacular ‘Our Time’ speaks directly from the heart of the young performers. It is their time to stand in the spotlight and shine. It is their time to make a difference, their time to showcase their passions and talent, and their time to develop into the future leaders that shape our nation.
Schools Spectacular featured Artists are chosen after an extensive audition process. Many of those selected as Featured Artists have gone on to reach great heights in the music industry. These include Human Nature; musical director, pianist and composer John Foreman; Australia’s Got Talent 2011 Winner Jack Vidgen; semi-finalist Natasha Hoeberigs,The Voice finalists Diana Rouvas and Darren Percival; Dancing with the Stars Joshua Horner; ARIA winners Paulini and Angus and Julia Stone; musical theatre stars David Harris, Lucy Maunder, Amanda Harrison, Julie Goodwin and Trevor Ashley; composer Gavin Lockley and country singers The McClymonts, Felicity Urquhart and Darren Coggan; and 2012 X Factor finalist Angel Tupai.
