- 4 – 15 June 2014
Sydney Film Festival 2014 dates for its historic 61st event, promising yet another year of great film, community engagement and cutting-edge creativity
Sydney Film Festival 2014 will showcase the best in cinema from across Australia and around the globe, bringing Sydneysiders a carefully curated selection of features, documentaries, short films, retrospectives, restorations, animations and more.
Over 12 jam-packed days and nights, the Festival will screen more than 190 films from over 50 countries, with an additional program of free and ticketed exhibitions, talks, panels, parties and live music events lining up for public offering.
As in previous years, the Festival will run across an expansive venue footprint, with more than 280 screenings taking place across Sydney in both CBD and city-fringe locations.
While the Festival will return to its staple screening venues in 2014, showing films at the State Theatre, Dendy Opera Quays, Art Gallery of NSW, Event Cinemas George Street, Festival Hub at Sydney Town Hall and Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne – audiences can also expect some more intimate viewing options in a number of soon-to-be-announced boutique screening locations.
The Sydney Film Festival programming team gathers films from the world’s most renowned film festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto and the Berlinale, and places them alongside Australia’s finest local productions to create a truly eclectic film program spanning wide-ranging cinematic styles and genres.
A sneak preview of the 2014 program will be announced in April and the full Festival program will be revealed in May.Share
