Looking for accommodation in the Hunter Valley NSW?
The cheery smile, warm welcome and bubbly personality of ‘Peta’ at the Reception Office of the Pokolbin Village Resort is exactly what every accommodation venue should be striving for when greeting patrons.
This welcome and the tranquil grounds, led us into our accommodation for the Semillon and Seafood Festival weekend at the Hunter Valley.
The award winning Pokolbin Village Resort has recently been refurbished and our two room suite was well appointed and roomy with a very comfortable bed laid with nice crispy sheets. The sparkling bathroom housed a great shower. Our rooms had a connecting door – great for sharing with family or friends.
With a large wide screen television and sound system and after our big day at the Festival the furthest we intended to venture was our own balcony cum veranda here. Relaxing outside with the setting sun filtering through the lush tropical feel of the grounds was an absolute treat.
With the sweet smell of country freshness in the air next morning and while watching kangaroos cavorting in a paddock across the way it was sad to think we must leave.
Even though the Resort is conveniently just off Broke Road, it is set back behind the village and the lush surrounds so any traffic noise was indiscernible and completely unheard inside our suite.
The little Pokolbin Village with it’s outlets selling gourmet cheeses, chocolates and local boutique wines and produce is charming and handy for picking up any last minute treats to enjoy in your room.
There’s many images on their website but we thought you might like a glimpse of the picturesque surrounds and based on our stay at the Pokolbin Village Resort we would be happy to recommend.
Sir Stamford Hotel Circular Quay, Sydney
The Sir Stamford Hotel Circular Quay where they say “Luxury Meets Prestige” played host to a Famil Club Function on March 20. If you’ve never sneaked a peek at this first class hotel spoil yourself with a drink at the bar sometime - you won’t be dissapointed. From the fabulous ice sculpture to the original oil paintings and prints that adorn the walls to the Regency style furniture this hotel has to be amongst Sydney’s most stylish. The original art works are breathtaking and represent the largest private collection in Australia.
On the night the service could not be faltered, the food was delicious and the mood complemented by the ivory tinkling of Steven Jaymes.
Right from the moment we arrived at this function it was all go. Prior to our arrival coctails we were creatively greeted by “Got It…Flaunt It” before being treated to a grand tour of the hotels stunning accommodation, well appointed function rooms and it’s many other facilties. We could even partake of a massage from the “Rejuvenators” before a motivational speech by “Move Mountains”. Then it was back to the bar (and the freeflowing cocktails) to be entertained by violinist, Manjia. Good thing we weren’t rising too early on Good Friday…..MiSociety
