Sydney’s first day of autumn 2009 heralded the beginning of NSW Wine Week when Sydney’s Hyde Park was transformed into a bustling ‘Cellar Door’. Promoted as Sydney’s biggest outdoor wine festival and with the weather doing it’s bit the day was a roaring success.
With the opportunity to taste over 100 premium wines from 14 NSW regions and food from some of Sydney’s foremost restaurants, locals, visitors and travelers alike got on the NSW wine trail in Hyde Park to sip, taste, relax and generally just have fun.
Mahalia Barnes and Steve Clisby were ‘spot on’ choices to provide the live music with people commenting that “they weren’t going anywhere else” with all the great wine, food and music on offer.
Wine note: If you have never tried wine from the Orange district of NSW make a point to do so – it’s a good drop.
The ‘week’ continues with participating restaurants around Sydney holding special events to promote our states wine.
NSW Wine Week is about encouraging New South Welshsmen (and women) to drink more local grape - so do your bit to help save NSW’s economy – drink more NSW wine (responsibly of course).Share
