Katya Grineva, a Russian classical pianist fresh from playing Carnegie Hall will grace the Sydney City Recital Hall Angel Place for the first time. MiSociety was at Katya’s private recital this week and her playing is absolutley beautiful – this concert will be a real treat

Katya Grineva is the only female solo pianist to have played New York’s Carnegie Hall Isaac Stern Auditorium eleven times and now you can hear her in Australia.
Grineva’s musical style has been hailed as “… lyrical… exquisitely refined…” (the Buffalo News). Her playing has been described as “… liquid, dreamlike…” (The New York Times).
Katya has exclusively performed the rediscovered piano sonatas of Marcel Tyberg, Austrian Composer who perished in the concentration camps in World War II. The audience will hear for the very first time outside of New York, a sampling of Tyberg’s piano sonatas, in addition to her interpretations of Schubert, Liszt, Satie, Bloch, Chopin, Granados, Piazolla and Ravel.
