Royal Randwick will host its final race day of Autumn Carnival, Schweppes Sydney Cup Day (Family Day). Its set to be an action packed day of racing filled with entertainment for the whole family which will provide the perfect opportunity to ease back-to-school blues and celebrate the ANZAC Day long weekend in racing style.
A highlight of the day will be the Kids Fashions on the Field where aspiring princes and princesses will have the chance to hit the runway and show off their best autumn outfits. The young fashionistas will be competing for Best Dressed Girl, Best Dressed Boy and Best Dressed Overall Winner, as well as prizes valued more than $13,000.
A kid’s wonderland including pony rides, jumping castles and much more will keep the little ones entertained all day while mum and dad can enjoy the exhilarating action on the track.
For the racing enthusiasts, Group 1 races include the running of the Schweppes Sydney Cup (3200m), Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m), Champagne Stakes (1600m) and the All Aged Stakes (1400m).
Tributing ANZAC Day, all returned servicemen, women and defense force personnel will receive free entry to Royal Randwick. An ANZAC Day catafalque parade will be staged in the Mounting Yard with the Last Post. and Legacy will be collecting donations on course throughout the day as well as $1 from the sale of each race book also going to the charity.Share
