SHOROC Councils host Vacation Care Carnival

  • Thursday 7 October 2010  11am and 3pm
  • Winnererremy Bay, Mona Vale

The SHOROC Councils of Pittwater, Manly, Mosman and Warringah will host a Vacation Care Carnival on Thursday 7 October between 11am and 3pm at Winnererremy Bay, Mona Vale.

The Council Carnival will bring together over 200 children from across Mosman and the northern beaches for a day of fun and activities organised by vacation care staff from the four Councils.

The carnival is for kindergarten to year six school students and will be organised by 25 vacation care staff.

Pittwater Council’s Children’s Services Coordinator Merron Howard said the children would be playing soccer and cricket together and also participate in other activities such as dance and a mini exercise ‘boot camp’. The children will also have a BBQ lunch put on by the vacation staff.

SHOROC President and Mosman Mayor Anne Connon said the Council Carnival was a unique opportunity for children from the SHOROC Council areas to meet and make friends from elsewhere.

Mayor Connon said each of the four SHOROC Councils offered a range of vacation care activities to keep the children busy during the school holidays.
