The Bar at the end of the Wharf launch party Sydney photos and story; MiSociety - 12 April 2012
The Sydney Bar that’s worth the walk
The Bar at the end of the Wharf really is at the end of the wharf – way at the end! Trudging past quirky signs prodding us to continue on our quest we arrived to be greeted by what must become one of Sydney’s fave drinking/eating spots.
The Bar at the end of the Wharf’s launch party quickly filled with media, sponsors and ‘connections’ all taking in the views of the surrounding harbour glistening in the setting sun whilst they dove into the delicious offerings of both the liquid and the solid fare (provided by Fresh Catering).
Surrounded by glass and areas open to the breeze and designed for comfort ‘The Bar’ is a spot to sit, relax, eat, drink and even play table tennis and oh yeah, you can even take in a show at the Wharf Theatre.
Sydney, till now, has been bereft of theatres with a designated bar/restaurant attached for befores and/or afters when taking in a show. This night after the ‘private party’ wound up the bar filled again with patrons on their way to see ‘Les Liaisons Dangereuses’ starring Hugo Weaving and Pamela Rabe at the Wharf Theatre, with this crowd also obviously impressed by their surroundings.
MiSociety gets to visit lots of bars around Sydney and we are all getting very spoilt for choice but ‘The Bar at the End’ at the Wharf Theatre, Hickson Road Sydney, is up there with the best on offer for views, reasonably priced food and wine and the delightfully relaxing atmosphere.
