The Eight Restaurant serves up Sydney’s largest Yum Cha lunch
The Eight Restaurant, Sydney’s largest Chinese Restaurant, treated media to an amazing lunch to showcase their huge array of Yum Cha dishes calling the event 120 dumplings in 120 minutes.
The Eight, part of the award-winning Zilver Restaurant group, is owned by Henry Tang who, along with his team of highly trained chefs, was on hand to ensure that the lunch was a success and to cater to the hungry crowd.
Yum Cha dishes of every conceivable type were on offer presenting us with staple favourites like steamed and fried dim sims, dumplings, seafood rolls, prawn balls, fried avocado and prawn rolls, congees, sticky rice, deep fried salt and pepper spanner crab alongside tasty delights we had not previously experienced. All this made for a tough choice as to which to try first. Hard to name favourites as there were many but do have to mention the black bean sesame dessert dumplings – wonderful!
MiSociety did endeavour to devour as many of the delicious dishes as possible but sadly no matter how good the food is, one only has a limited capacity at any one sitting, so will definitely have to venture back to The Eight for an encore meal.
The Eight Restaurant also offers a wide choice of a la carte dishes and caters for private functions, banquets and customised menus with over 80 food selections alongside a comprehensive list of premium wines as well as Asian cocktails, mocktails, spirits, local and imported beers.
