The Sydney Morning Herald’s 2009 Good Food Guide was launched on Monday in the sensational new ballroom, the Ivy Room – the latest addition to Justin Hemmes entertainment venues.
The 340 page guide proves fine dining is alive and well in Sydney and statewide NSW. The Quay, under the guidance of chef Peter Gilmore took out Restaurant of the Year gong whilst the revived Berowa Waters Inn was voted Best New Restaurant.
The legendary Lucio Galletto of Lucios received a Silver Service Award whilst another legend and one of the world’s biggest seller of cookbooks, Margaret Fulton, announced Justin North of ‘Becasse’ as the All-Clad Chef of The Year.
The Josephine Pignolet Best Young Chef-named in honour of the late chef ,was presented to James Parry of Oscillate Wildly while the Vittoria Legend Award went to Maurice Terzini , genius behind the Iceberg’s Dining Room in Bondi.
