Charles Billich’s ‘ World of Polo’ preview for ’China White’ Polo, U.K. 2 July 2009 Words & Images: MiSociety & Bill Ranken
An invitation to a party at the Charles Billich Gallery in Sydney’s Rocks area is always an assurance that one is about to meet an interesting, diverse and fascinating collection of guests – and this gathering did not disappoint.
Charles Billich is Australia’s Internationally recognised artist and this exclusive soiree was to herald the hosting by Charles and his wife Christa of their own Marquee at the prestigious ‘China White’ Cartier Polo 25th Anniversary Tournament on 26 July in the U.K. The ‘China White’ is THE Polo event in the U.K. attended by the Royals, world leaders and the absolute cream of society.
The private Billich marquee will house Charles’ ‘World of Polo’ collection and will be attended by high profile International guests and locals including Liz’s hubby Prince Phil.
The remarkable Mr Billich will not only be welcoming guests, but will also be commemorating the day’s Polo action through his ‘on the spot’ drawings of the fast paced, on field, horsey thrills at this top notch tournament. Charles will present these drawings to the (gorgeous) English and Argentinean Polo teams.
MiSociety also has an invitation to attend the marquee! We may not make it there personally but have friends attending on our behalf and we will be bringing you all the exclusive news, images and goss on this major U.K. social event.
The Billich ‘World of Polo’ collection will then travel to the St. Tropez Open Du Soleil Polo Tournament. This Tournament is to be followed by an after party at the VIP Rooms, St, Tropez, France.
