Review of ‘The Ponzi Inheritance’ by Ania one of our ticket winners
A really interesting and engaging production, which is a 2009 retelling of a play written in 1905 by Harley Granville Barker. The play revolves around a son ‘inheriting’ a Ponzi scheme from his father via the family business – a type of fraud that pays returns to separate investors from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors, rather than any actual profit earned.
The themes of the play are just as relevant today as in the early 1900s – conflicts between duties to family, clients and the law, and assessments of moral guilt and innocence. The small, intimate theatre space of this community theatre is another plus. Definitely worth seeing! – AniaShare
