Enjoy a wonderful range of music and take a trip down memory lane as a group of leading musicians, led by pianist Peter Locke and singer Helen Fenton, take you on a truly spectacular journey through Tin Pan Alley in the 1930s. Tin Pan Alley was the name given to the publishing business that hired composers and lyricists to create popular songs. It was the nickname given to the actual street in Manhattan, West 28th, where the popular music publishers had their offices. In time it became the generic term for all publishers of popular American sheet music. This delightful concert will feature music by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers, Harold Arlen, Harry Warren, Hoagy Carmichael, Jimmy Van Heusen and Walter Donaldson.
