Fleurology – A Blooming Great Launch
Waterford Crystal introduced the exclusive Waterford Fleurology Crystal Vases collection at a celebration of all things floral at the newly refurbished Level 6 space atop Sydney’s MCA building in The Rocks. Waterford vases, bursting with magnificent blooms were festooned around the chic new glass walled venue, crystalising the WOW factor as guests entered into the wonderland of a fabulous flower show on a cut crystal canvas juxtapositioned against the Sydney skyline.
The Star on the night, Jeff Leatham, Ambassador for the Waterford Fleurology Collection, is a world renowned floral designer and the creator of this fantastic flower fest. Jeff is also the Artistic Director for the Four Seasons George V Hotel Paris, has been voted “Best Hotel Florist”in Europe for three consecutive years, written two books and is the star of “Flowers Uncut”on Arena TV. Mr Leatham will be donning another hat for that ‘little’ horse race when he takes his bouquets and the Waterford Fleurology range to Melbourne to ‘Fleurologise’ the Myer “Butterfly House” Marquee during the 2011 Melbourne Cup.
Jeff Leatham (dubbed internationally as ‘The Rock and Roll Florist’) during his presentation talk, quipped that he had placed “a ‘flower bomb’ between Sydney’s two iconic landmarks – the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House”. At one point there almost was an explosion when a sudden gust of wind toppled a huge external display bringing it crashing to the balcony floor. Breaths were held but fortunately the vases survived demonstrating how something of beauty can also be amazingly robust.
Perrier Jouet Champagne was served to guests in Waterford’s wonderful ruby flutes causing MiSociety to comment that flat lemonade would be palatable sipped from these little beauties. Guests were gifted a pair of Waterford’s Lismore Essence Flutes on the night – MiSociety will take great pleasure in christening them.
