Australia Day 2012 at Darling Harbour program starts at 11.30am and finishes with the Australia Day Spectacular, boat parades, tall ships and an action-packed Water Police rescue followed by the fireworks.

Australia Day at Darling Harbour will be a huge day of free entertainment including, kids’ entertainment, a world music and dance program and the official NSW Australia Day Spectacular.
From 11.30am head to the Children’s Stage at The Village Green where Playschool star Jay Laga’aia will host heaps of fun for the kids including interactive indigenous musical group Circular Rhythm, Christine Anu’s ARIA Award-winning children’s show Chrissy’s Island Family and energetic African musicians Afro Beats.
Six hours of the best world music and dance kicks-off at 12pm at Palm Grove. Performances include the powerful energy and African rhythms of Afro Moses and Moses O’Jah, Celtic favourites and originals from Seltic Sirens, Assyrian party music from Azadoota and gypsy, Cuban and Zimbabwean dance music courtesy of Marsala.
Australia Day Spectacle
From 7pm on Cockle Bay, the biggest event on the NSW Australia Day calendar, the Australia Day Spectacular, features addresses from the NSW Premier and the Governor, boat parades, tall ships and an action-packed Water Police rescue.
The Australia Day Spectacular will culminate with a highly choreographed spectacle of lights, lasers, fire and water with a stunning crescendo of fireworks over Cockle Bay.
Complementing the Australia Day Spectacular will be a brilliant soundtrack written and composed by one of Australia’s leading young composers Felix Riebl of Cat Empire fame.
