Mission X: The rag tag fleet and Persuasion: US propaganda posters from WW2
Open December 19
New World War 2 themed exhibitions Mission X and Persuasion arrive at the museum in December. Persuasion showcases American propaganda posters from WW2. The message is subtle, and emphasis is on the importance of saving time, money and resources, with the enemy evoked as an invisible menace and threat to the American family and way of life. Mission X is the story of Australians sailing under the US flag during the Second World War – the US Army Small Ships Section was made up of some 3000 requisitioned Australian vessels of every imaginable size and type.
